I decided this week to switch it up a bit and talk about books, and independent films I watched at SIFF – Seattle International Film Festival:

Books

Talks about how countries fought over salt, and how it was traded. It’s a salt and world history book at the same time. Also, there are cooking recipes from the old days. Very interesting!

Vegfest

This week, I’m shifting gears and talking about vegfest. I ended up going for two days because of my friends’ different schedule. It was very interesting, a lot of suppliers, and a medical presentation on health by doctors. I enjoyed the cooking demonstration—one was about cooking for one, and another one on Asian cuisine.

Food Stylist

Today, I was able to interview and talk to my friend, Heloise a food stylist. She is novice in the field. Working with her hands and watching her for a few hours as a food stylist gave me a different, and interesting perspective about food styling:

1- Food stylist has to have a high attention to detail, creativity, cooking, and photography experience. Heloise mentioned the number of times a food stylist takes pictures from different angles. She told me it takes over 10 photoshoots to get it right.
